Submission of Plenary Talks

Plenary speakers should submit both an abstract and a full text of their plenary talks as separate items.

Here are some basic guidelines for their preparation:

Abstract

  • abstracts should be written in English using LaTeX (2e), please do not use any other version of TeX;
  • download the sample file at this link and replace the text by your own contribution;
  • the sample file also contains the instructions in the text, you can run latex on it to get them;
  • or you can download the instruction in this PDF file;
  • abstracts should not be longer than 150 words;
  • once you have written your abstract you can submit it at this website using the following instructions:
    1. first create a new login id; you will receive an e-mail containing your username and password
    2. login as author using this information
    3. when asked for an article type, select “Plenary Talk: Abstract” from the drop-down list
    4. follow on-screen instructions to complete the submission process.
  • please submit the abstract by April 15, 2010.

Full paper

  • manuscripts should be written in LaTeX (2e), please do not use any other version of TeX;
  • use the icm2010 class; the file is available for download at this link; the class file should be downloaded, and saved in the same directory/folder where the Latex file of the Plenary contribution is to be found
  • a small set of instructions for the above class can be found here (PDF file);
  • a very basic template file is available here;
  • we would appreciate it if your article is written keeping a general mathematical readership in mind;
  • please make your article between 10 and 25 pages long;
  • once you have written your article you can submit it at this website using the following instructions:
    1. login as author using the same username that you had used when submitting the plenary abstract
    2. when asked for an article type, select “Plenary Talk: Full Paper” from the drop-down list
    3. follow on-screen instructions to complete the submission process
    4. in case you have figures in your paper, they need to be uploaded as separate .eps or .ps files
    5. on the file upload page, first upload the Latex text file of your paper by selecting the submission item “Plenary Talk: Full Text”  from the drop down menu on this page
    6. on the same page, upload your file containing the figure by selecting the submission item “Plenary Talk: Figure” from the drop down menu
    7. if you have more than one figure, repeat the above step the requisite number of times
    8. Authors should upload only the Latex source file (prepared using the instructions given above) and NOT a pdf or MSWord doc file or any other format file.
  • please submit the full paper (including the abstract) by May 15, 2010.
