Serviced Apartments

What is a Serviced Apartment?

“Serviced Apartment” is a new concept that has emerged in recent times and is very popular amongst international and domestic travelers. It is especially convenient for groups or small teams who take all the rooms of an entire apartment and then can enjoy the living room and dining areas as if at home. Serviced Apartment offers most of the conveniences that a hotel would provide, with a few exceptions such as bar & restaurant, swimming pool, and shopping arcade which are not there.

Most of the Serviced Apartments are available from one night to one year. Serviced apartments are considered to be an alternative for an expensive hotel stay. These are categorized as 2 Bed room / 3 Bed room where each bed room is considered as an individual room. Charges are per room and not per head. Each apartment (having 2 or 3 Bedrooms) comes with a common kitchenette and living room and dining area. It is not necessary to book all the rooms of an apartment. In Hyderabad there are plenty of serviced apartments around places like HICC, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, and Hi-tech city.

About Food:

Serviced apartments do not have any built-in restaurants. However breakfast is complimentary at all serviced apartments and that would be served inside the apartment in the dining area. Breakfast would generally comprise of 2 Indian items, Eggs, Toast, Cut fruits, Milk and Tea/coffee. For other F&B requirements, Guests staying at serviced apartments either have to order outside for food (from the menu cards of surrounding restaurants placed in their rooms) as room-service or to be served in the dining area. Alternately they have to go out and eat. Some serviced apartments do have a kitchen, and guests can place orders for in-house cooked food from a limited menu served at fixed times. Late orders can’t be accepted as it is difficult to prepare food at short notice. Guests can also buy groceries from the market and cook their own food in the kitchenette.

Front Desk:

As in hotels, serviced apartments do have a 24×7 help desk to assist guests and to cater for services round the clock. Check-in is more flexible than for hotels, as in serviced apartments details of all the guests staying in a room need not be provided in advance. A room can be booked on just one name and accompanying persons can check in on-the-spot. At the front desk we need to furnish payment details –such as who will pay and mode of payment. Staff at the front desk would communicate with guests in English.

Basic Facilities provided:

Air-conditioned and Furnished flat, Attached bath, fully equipped kitchen, Color TV, fridge, Locker, Telephone connection, 24-hours security, in-house gym in some of the properties, Laundry, Fire safety and Private parking, Airport Pick up & drop facilitation. Most of them are Wi-Fi enabled.

Transportation:

Serviced Apartments provide paid Airport pick & drop facility for their guests if they are pre-intimated about arrival & departure details. Similarly to travel between city and serviced apartment during their stay, the guest could either book a cab (taxi) at the front desk or they could pick an auto-rickshaw which works out less expensive.
